Museimpresa – The Italian Association of Company Archives and Museums -- was born in 2001 after a few years of informal research and meetings undertaken by the representatives of fifteen of the major company archives and museums, with the active support of Assolombarda and Confindustria.
Museimpresa aims is promote the cultural initiatives of the companies, through the valorisation of their museums and the archives.Within this context Museimpresa is committed to exchanging and promoting experiences and knowledge with the museum community, the companies, the institutions and the public. In addition, Museimpresa invests on research, training and development of company museums and archives.
During its first years of life, Museimpresa mainly devoted its time to a networking activity between companies, institutions and cultural, research and training foundations. Among the different successful initiatives worth of mention the publication of the guide Industrial Tourism in Italy, in collaboration with Italian Touring Club; a political agreement with the Ministry of University Education, aimed to create an opportunity for the schools and the company museums and archives to meet; all the cultural events for the various editions of the Company Culture Week, promoted by Confindustria every year in the second half of November; study seminars.
The members of Museimpresa are, in addition to Assolombarda and Confindustria, the two institutional ones,: Aboca, Alessi, Alfa Romeo, Alinari, Amarelli, Artsana, Barilla, Bergallo, Borsalino, Bracco, Fratelli Branca Distillerie, Cottoveneto, Ducati, Eni, Enel, Ferragamo, Ferrari, Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato, Guzzini, Intesa Sanpaolo, Kartell, Museo Nicolis, Lungarotti, Martini & Rossi, Museo della Paglia “Domenico Michelacci”, Museo Territoriale Bassa Friulana-CID, Olivetti, Peroni, Piaggio, Pirelli, Rossimoda, Sagsa, Safilo, Same,Tenaris Dalmine, Zambon, Zegna, Zucchi. The institutional supporters of the Association are Consorzio BAICR, Associazione Paesaggio del'Eccellenzal and Sistema Cultura and Federturismo.
